Carnival Corporation. The principal activity of the Group is the operation of five cruise lines under the brand names Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Seabourn Cruise Line, Windstar Cruises, Airtours Sun Cruises, Costa . The Company's brands are positioned to appeal to each of the three major sectors of the vacation market - contemporary, premium and luxury. Carnival operates fourteen cruise ships cruising in the Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera. Holland America operates nine cruise ships cruising in Alaska, the Caribbean and Europe. Windstar operates four luxury, sail-powered vessels cruising primarily in the Caribbean, Europe and Central America. Cunard and Seabourn operate two and six luxury cruise vessels respectively to worldwide destinations. Holland America markets sightseeing tours both separately and as part of Holland America Westours cruise/tour packages. During the year 2000 the Company completed the acquisition of Costa Crociere S.p.A.
