FirstGroup plc. The Group's principal activity is providing passenger transport services. The Group's operations are carried out in three divisions: Rail, Bus and North America. The Rail business operates passenger and freight services in the United Kingdom. This division operates a non-franchised open access intercity passenger train operator, and provides rail freight services. The Bus division operates a fleet of 9,000 buses operating in 40 towns and cities across the United Kingdom, carrying 2.8 million passengers every day. This division operates buses such as double deck buses, single deck buses and guided buses. The North American business operates a fleet of 21,000 yellow school buses and provides vehicle maintenance and ancillary services in the United States of America and Canada.
