Thousand Trails (collectively with its subsidiaries) owns and operates one of the largest privately owned campground systems in the United States based upon 65 membership-based campgrounds & 157,000 members in the system as of June 30 1993. Resorts are located in scenic areas generally within 100 miles of metropolitan centers and feature family-oriented recreational facilities and activities. Thousand Trails resorts are used by members who bring their own recreational vehicles and by those who rent company owned travel trailers or cabins at the resorts. Membership accounted for 77% of fis 93 revenues and Campground Revenues, 23%.
