Company Description
Pentos PLC is a specialist retailer and also manufactures office furniture. The group's specialist retailing brands are Dillons, Athena and Ryman. Markets supplied by the group include the United Kingdom, Europe, North and South America, Australasia and the Far East, the Middle East and Africa. Specialist retailing accounted for 91% of 1993 revenues and office furniture, 9%. In February, 1994, the group announced the disposal of 53 Ryman Computer Stores to Cellular Communications Corporation plc. This is part of the group's major restructuring programme. Also since the year end the group has announced that they have disposed of the wholesale, publishing and manufacturing business of Athena International and the wholesale distribution business in Germany. There are also plans to dispose of 38 Athena retail sites in the coming year.
