Redgewoods Holdings Ltd trading as Reggie's is a listed investment holding company. The group has several operating subsidiaries which carry on the business of specialist retailing of toys, baby goods, audio-visual equipment, appliances and electrical and household goods under the brand names Reggie's, Toys R Us, Baby and Company, Hi-Fi Corporation and Appliance City. During 1998 the group launched a new division Action Auction, a direct marketing company where products are sold by tender to the highest bidders over the telephone. At February 1998 the group operated from a total of 79 stores situated throughout South Africa.
