Burlington Industries, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market fabrics and other textile products used in apparel and interior furnishings. The Group operates in three segments. Apparel fabric segment manufactures woven worsted, worsted blend fabrics and woven synthetic fabrics. Interior furnishing segment manufactures and markets ready-made and made-to-measure draperies, bedroom ensembles and coordinating window coverings, bath accessories and residential upholstery fabrics. Carpet segment manufactures tufted synthetic carpet, comprised of broadloom carpet, carpet tiles and six-foot vinyl-backed carpet. The Group markets the products in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asian countries. On 15-Nov-2001, the Group filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.
