SAGAL-Societe Anonyme Guyomarc'h Alimentaire, formerly Guyomarc'h SA, is involved in the production and distribution of pet food through the Royal Canin division. SAGAL produces fresh and frozen meat preparations such as Pere Dodu and Chip Long products. In addition, the company produces various natural ingredients for use in food and pharmaceutical products: dehydrated meat, natural colouring, vegetable and fruit powder and amino-acid. In 1995 the animal feed division was transferred to the newly created GNA (Guyomarc'h Nutrition Animale) company. Pet food accounted for 54% of 1995 revenues; natural ingredients, 27%; fresh and frozen prepared meat products, 18% and other, 1%.
