The services provided by these companies include cellular and paging services and the sale of cellular telephones, pagers and accessories. The majority of revenues are earned by its U.S. cellular operations. During 1998, the company acquired U.S. Cellular properties and a further 25% interest in PrimeCo Personal Communications of MeidaOne Group Inc., bringing the total holdings in PrimeCo to 50%. On Jan 15, 1999, an agreement to merge with Vodafone Group Plc was announced.
