TelCoreComm Limited (formerly known as ATX Tecommunications services, Inc.) provides integrated telephone, Internet and high-speed data services. These services are provided to business and residential customers in the United States. The company is exploiting the convergence of telecommunications and information services through its Smart LEC (SM) network strategy. This network strategy involves the ownership of telephone switching equipment and the leasing of the local telephone lines that run directly to homes and businesses along with the provision of a national network that carries Internet traffic. The company provides voice and data services and other related services. CoreComm currently offers the following voice and data services - local exchange services, custom calling features, long distance services, Internet access services, web site hosting and design and data networking services. As a complement to its voice and data services, CoreComm also offers cellular and paging services. In 1999 the company acquired MegsINet Inc. and certain assets of USN Communications, Inc. In 2000 the company acquired Voyager.net, Inc. and ATX telecommunications Services, Inc. The company spun off from Cellular Communications of Puerto Rico, Inc. in 1998. The company's predecessor for accounting purposes is CoreComm Limited, a Bermuda corporation. As part of the company's acquisition of ATX, CoreComm Bermuda was merged into a newly-formed Delaware corporation. This corporation then merged into ATX with ATX being the surviving corporation and ATX changed its name to CoreComm Limited.
