Harmon Industries, Inc. is a supplier of signal and train control products to railroads worldwide. The company designs, manufactures, markets and services an extensive line of equipment designed to improve the operating efficiency and safety performance for its customers. Harmon Industries, Inc. also provides a single-source, rapid delivery service for urgently needed railroad components by warehousing commonly-used parts and equipment manufactured by Harmon. During 1999, the company acquired majority interest of Angiolo Siliani S.P.A., Siliani ed Impianti S.P.A. and 100% ownership of Syseca, Inc., DJR, Inc. and Golden Gate Switchgear, Inc. Train control systems accounted for 48% of 1999 revenues; crossing systems, 22%; asset management services, 8%; communication systems, 7%; train inspection systems, 4%; printed wiring borads, 2% and other 9%.
