Anglo-Canadian Telephone Company. Anglo-Canadian Telephone Company, through its two telephone subsidiary companies, B.C. Telecom Inc. and Quebec-Telephone, provides telephone and telecommunications services. B.C. Telecom Inc. is the second largest telecommunications company in Canada, and owns and operates the telephone system servicing most of the Province of British Columbia. Quebec-Telephone provides computer-based telecommunications and services in 309 municipalities. The company also owns Dominion Directory Company, a directory, advertising, marketing and production operation that serves the customers of BC TEL, Quebec-Telephone and Prince Rupert City Telephones. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of GTE Corporation. Local service accounted for 39% of 1999 revenues; directory advertising, equipment sales and other, 35% and long distance service, 26%.
