The principal activities of the Group are the operation of a nationwide fiber-optic network focused on providing voice, data, Internet and video services to communications service providers; selling, installation and maintenance of equipment and network services that address the comprehensive voice and data needs of organizations of all sizes. The Group is organized into four operating segments as follows: Network, which includes fiber-optic construction, transmission and management services; Broadband Media, which includes Vyvx services and various investments in broadband media businesses; Solutions, which includes distribution and integration of communications equipment for voice and data networks and Strategic Investments, which includes certain other investments in domestic and foreign communications companies. Network services accounted for 81% of 2000 revenues and broadband media, 19%.
