PanAmSat Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to provide satellite-based video, broadcasting and network services to customers worldwide. The Group operates through three segments. Video services provide satellite services for the transmission of entertainment, news, sports and educational programming to over 300 content providers worldwide. Network services provide satellite services for relaying voice, video and data communications around the world. It provides network services to telecommunications carriers, network service providers and Governments in over 80 countries. Other services offered include telemetry, tracking and control services for seven satellites owned by other satellite operators. The customers of the Group include Time Warner, the BBC, News Corp, Sony, Viacom and The Walt Disney Company. On 07-Mar-2003, the Group acquired Hughes Global Services Inc & Sonic Telecom on 13-Nov-2003.
