Santa Fe Pacific Corp. is principally a holding company that owns susidiaries concerned with two businesses, rail and pipeline. The rail segment consisting of The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway companies, serves 12 midwestern, western and southwestern states. They provide freight rail transportation services over track extending from Chicago to the Gulf of Mexico and the west coast, transporting a broad range of commodoties derived from manufacturing, agricultural and natural resource industries. Major markets served directly include Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Oklahoma and San Francisco as well as the US/Mexico crossings of El Paco and San Diego. Sante Fe Pacific Pipelines an indirect wholly owned subsidiary, serves as the general partner of Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners L.P. This partnership is one of the largest in the western U.S. and the largest in terms of product deliveries and pipeline mileage. They have approximately 3,300 miles of pipeline serving 6 states, transporting refined petroleum products including gasoline, diesel fuel and commercial and military jet fuel.
