BTL AB (formerly Bilspedition Transport & Logistics BTL AB) is the largest transport and logistics group in Scandinavia, and one of the largest in Europe. The company develops and produces transport, logistics and information services and all means of transport are used in the transport production: road vehicles, railways, ships and aircraft. During 1998, about 30 million tonnes of goods were transported in the group's networks, which consist of over 500 offices in 30 countries. The company was acquired by Stinnes AG (Germany) in 1999. Land transport operations accounted for 75% of 1998 revenues; air and sea transport operations, 19%; specialist operations, 4% and other, 2%.
