A career in the chemicals industry may be the perfect prospect for the few that always enjoyed chemistry class, uncertain why the elements seemed so difficult for everyone else to memorize, or that flew through calculus and trigonometry courses. Not only do most chemical jobs rely upon a heavy understanding of science and mathematics, but many of the careers within this field contribute to the treatment, prevention and curing of fatal diseases. Biochemist

A biochemist is a scientist that must have knowledge of chemical structures, properties and composition and use that knowledge, along with techniques in logistics and mathematical skills, to solve problems. Generally, biochemists study the chemical makeup and function of the lifecycle for medical purposes.

Pharmacologist

Pharmacologists are scientists that work with natural and man-made chemicals to develop new drugs that help to cure, treat and prevent diseases, genetic disorders and psychological problems. Toxicologist

Toxicologists work predominately for the cosmetics industry. They study the effects of cosmetic products during the process of development in order to find the best combination of ingredients to create the best results. Toxicologists typically use animals for these tests.

Clinical research associate (CRA)

Clinical research associates administer and monitor the process of clinical trials as representatives of specific sponsors, such as drug companies.
