SeoBook.com Search Engine Rank Checker: A CFO looks at the books daily, I like at rankings of my sites, client's sites, and my client's competitors daily. Having a free resource to do this all in one place is invaluable; plus not paying a managed solution for this does not give away client's info.
YouTube.com: Video will be what Facebook was last year...the in thing. I can upload, optimize, and promote a video on youtube.com for a client and pass up competitors websites in less than a week sometimes.
Google Alerts: It is like Google calling me and saying, "Hey Jeff...we just indexed a new web page that is similar to yours, you should read about it, blog about it, fear it (if competition), learn from it, or write a response and link back to your site to increase your link value...almost my own personal research employee.
Yahoo Site Explorer: Google doesn't tell you the full list of how many sites link to you, Yahoo does. It also tells you how important each link coming to a website is. Use this tool to find out who is linking to your website & your competitors website....it may help me find new link partners or ideas to surpass them in the search engines.

Google Analytics: A great FREE tool to check your website traffic. Use this tool to find not only how many unique visitors & page views your website receives by what keywords users type in to find your website & what websites referrer visitors to your site.
SEOBOOK.COM Back Link Analyzer: Do you want to rank well for a keyword? Do you want to find your competitors are ranked ahead of you in the search engines? Use this tool to analyze ALL the anchor text for your competitors, find who links to them, and duplicate the process for your website.
SEOCHAT.com Keyword Difficulty: Use this tool to target the keywords with the least amount of competition. Type in a keyword and it will tell you how competitive a keyword phrase is.
Compete.com: A great third party application that will tell you how much traffic & page views a website is receiving.
