Maryland Florists

How to buy quality flowers from a florist in Maryland

By Melissa Hudak
Buying flowers from one of the many florists in MD is a great way to congratulate an employee or client.  Many people also realize that sending flowers or plants to clients is a wonderful way to earn goodwill.

However, if your client is in Maryland and you are in another state, how can you find a Maryland florist you can trust to send a quality arrangement in a timely manner?

It might not be easy, but the thoughtfulness you show by taking the time to buy flowers in Maryland instead of relying on a nationwide floral service should earn you points with your client.

When looking for Maryland florists, make sure you:

1. Find a source for Maryland flower delivery as close to your client as possible.

2. Don't rely on Internet or email ordering. Talk to the MD florists by phone. The service you get will give you a good idea of the quality of flowers your client will receive.

3. Check out the websites of MD online florists, but don't assume everything they have is online. If you ask for something special or unique to the state, the Maryland florist should be able to provide it.

Find a Maryland online florist in the western region of the state

The western part of Maryland is home to towns such as Cumberland and Frostburg, and these towns do have florists. Some of the Maryland online flower shops also deliver throughout the state or in their tri-state region.
Try: Maryland online flowers are sold by both Cumberland Floral and Flowerland, and both serve the Cumberland area. For clients in Frostburg, try Harvey's Florist, Giftshop and Greenhouses, Inc., which has a wide range of floral gifts as well as wreaths, gourmet baskets and other gift items.

Locate Maryland online florists in the Capital region

To find florists in Maryland that serve the area close to the nation's capital, look for MD online florists in Bethesda, Silver Spring or New Market.
Try: Blumenhaus Florist, Exquisite! Design Studio, Hoover-Fisher Florist, or Ory Custom Florals are some florists in Maryland to try. Many offer gifts specifically designed for the corporate client.

Contact florists in Maryland's central region

Baltimore and Annapolis are two of the larger cities in Maryland, and both are home to some fine Maryland florists.
Try: In Baltimore, Flowers By Chris, Gordon Florist Inc. and Radebaugh Florist & Greenhouses all offer a range of gifts your client might enjoy. If your client is in Annapolis, try York Flowers or The Gateway Florist.

Find florists in Maryland's Southern region and the Eastern Shore

If your client is in or near the towns of Leonardtown, Berlin or Chestertown you should check out these MD online florists.
Try: Kenny's Flowers, Kitty's Flowers and Rachel's Flower Power are some Maryland online florists that may have gifts to brighten your client's day.

Look for other florists in Maryland

Many fine florists don't have an Internet site, or they have a generic website that doesn't give a good idea of what they can do. If your client is in a town that doesn't seem to have a Maryland online florist, you can still contact them by phone.
Try: Check out Locate-A-Flower-Shop.com for some Maryland florists. You can also visit Find a Florist for a Maryland florist serving your client's hometown.

  • As in many New England states, the fall colors are a popular attraction in Maryland. If you are ordering flowers in Maryland's autumn season, see if the florist can incorporate leaves or autumn colors into your floral arrangement.
