Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF)

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) and what came after

By Lisa Maloney

The United Kingdom Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) was dissolved in 2002. It was the last actual Ministry in the UK, and with its dissolution the post of Minister of Agriculture UK, which existed briefly as part of the Department of Environment, Food and Rural affairs, was also dissolved.

With the sudden and abrupt departure of the Agriculture Ministry, UK, it's little surprise that many business people have questions about what happened and where to direct their inquiries. Here are answers to the most common questions:

1. What did the MAFF do before its dissolution?

2. What happened to the MAFF?

3. Who's handling the Ministry of Agriculture in the UK now?
