Don't let pop-up display key terms confuse you

While most pop-up displays come ready to set up from the manufacturer, it’s still helpful to have a good working knowledge of their key terms if you are going to work at trade shows. Most pop-up displays consist of a series of metal channel bars that makes a frame, which is covered in fabric. Some pop-up displays are straight or curved wall-size advertisements, while others are smaller, freestanding units in a pyramid shape.

 

Curved pop-up display frames

Curved pop-up display frames are freestanding frames with enough bend to give the display a three-dimensional effect. You can order curved pop-up display frames in a variety of shapes.

Pyramid pop-up displays

Pyramid pop-up displays are freestanding and can come in a number of arrangements. Usually smaller panels, or skins, that contain your brand attach to the frames with magnetic connectors.

Photomural panel

The photomural panel is made of fabric (containing your information) that attaches to the pop-up display frame. You often order the photomural panel from the same company as the frame, but you may need a variety of panels. Be sure they connect in the same manner as the original photomural panel.

Channel bars

Channel bars are the bars that provide structure for the pop-up display. Channel bars are either all metal or magnetized. Since the panels and skins attach with magnets, the magnetized channel bars provide extra surface where the fabric displays attach.

Hangers

Pop-up display hangers usually come with a bar at the top that connects the fabric to the pop-up display frame. Hangers generally come with a stiffener piece called a kicker, which goes on the bottom of the fabric panel.

Headers
