Kentucky recognizes four categories of appraisers. An associate appraiser performs property appraisals that the supervising appraiser permitted to appraise. A certified residential real property appraiser may perform residential appraisals of any value and nonresidential real property valued at less than $250,000. A certified general real property appraiser may perform appraisals of all types of real property.- Kentucky property assessors must meet the minimum certification and licensing requirements established by the AQB. However, the licensing requirements for assessing Kentucky property records are more stringent than those required by the AQB. For example, Kentucky requires an appraisal license for all appraisers regardless of the transaction value of the property.
