Clarifiers
Tips & Advice to help you make your decision on Clarifiers
While the environment is becoming a big concern for many businesses, there are many that have made the planet and its care a priority for a long time. Actually, many businesses are in the business of caring for various aspects of the environment. Companies that have a responsibility to clean waste water for example, have specific needs when it comes to their equipment and facilities. It is essential for these companies to have well maintained and operational clarifiers. These equipment types are used to remove debris and other harmful components from waste water found in run off, sewers, and other sources.
There are two main types of water cleaning clarifiers currently on the market. The first are the circular mechanic type. The water to be clarified is held in a round tank and moved in a downward pattern to the bottom. A skimmer device constantly skims the surface of the water to remove floating debris and scum from the water. The other kind of cleaning apparatus is known as the parallel plate device. This kind of equipment has been used for many years to remove debris, chemicals, and other contaminants from waste water.

Clarifiers
Find water clarifiers for your businessBy Cathy Salustri Water clarifiers remove suspended solids from all types of water, from drinking water to pond water. Within the potable and wastewater industry, industrial clarifiers have many different applications. While some water clarifiers have specific purposes (for example, a circular wastewater clarifier works in a treatment chamber), others work in a variety of circumstances (for example, UV water clarifiers work on several types of water).
When looking at industrial clarifiers, knowing a little about the different types of clarifiers helps you select the types of industrial water clarifiers your business should use. Some general types of clarifiers include (but are not limited to):
1. UV water clarifiers, which use a sort of UV sterilizer clarifier
2. Wastewater clarifiers, which include many types of clarifiers such as circular wastewater clarifiers
3. General water clarifiers, which can use either of the above methods, both of them or altogether different methods to clean suspended solids from water
Discover the appropriate industrial clarifier
Sometimes you just need to do down-and-dirty fact-checking. Clarifiers clean water, yes, but different clarifiers work in different ways. Investigate the different ways they work, and you'll be better equipped to find clarifier manufacturers and narrow down the industrial water clarifier you need.
Try: Triveni Engineering & Industries explains how circular wastewater clarifiers work. For a diagram of a UV clarifier, look at the East Riding Koi Company.
Compare clarifier manufacturers
Armed with the information about water clarifiers, you can now compare clarifier manufacturers. Depending on the type and amount of water you need to clean you'll have to compare water clarifiers using different specifications. In many cases manufacturers may refer to a pond clarifier by a popular brand name, the Tetra clarifier. If you specifically want the Tetra brand pond clarifier, double-check to make sure the supplier isn't using the phrase "Tetra clarifier" to refer to a pond clarifier in general rather than a true Tetra clarifier.
Try: Search for wastewater clarifiers at Met-Chem. For smaller water clarifier applications, such as a pond clarifier, look at pet supply stores like GregRobert Discount Pet Supplies Store. (These sites also offer chemical clarifiers in addition to a mechanical or a UV water clarifier.) Check out the ultraviolet clarifiers and others in the Tetra product catalog.
Consider enhancing your industrial water clarifiers
Water clarification is only part of cleaning water. Explore the idea of supplementing your clarification with other systems. If you have a mechanical water clarifier consider adding a UV water clarifier. Talk to wastewater clarifier manufacturers about ultraviolet clarifiers or water polishing.
Try: Monroe Environmental sells wastewater clarifiers. Siemens AG also has technology that will enhance water clarifiers, and you can hire them to install and service those filters.
- Web searches only get you halfway there; find clarifier manufacturers who deliver quality equipment in a timely manner by talking to others in your industry. Ask clarifier manufacturers for customer references.
