Endless belts–or conveyor belts, as they are also frequently called–are used by many industrial companies for a variety of applications. These belts are integral parts of packaging machines, printing machines, book binding machines, food processing equipment, and many more types of machinery. Belts are available in many different sizes and materials.
V-belts are used with timing, sequencing, and conveying applications. They may be smooth, wedged, cogged, banded, notched, or ribbed. Poly v-belts are quite flexible and offer high speed capability. Variable speed v-belts have lateral rigidity that enables consistent speed control for the endless belt.
High temperature conveyor belts are used for applications which have operating temperatures of -100 degrees to +500 degrees. They may be made of PTFE coated Kevlar, Nomex, or silicone-coated materials. Food grade belts are designed to be FDA and USDA compliant. These conveyor belts are constructed of an extruded urethane material that has additives to prevent microorganism growth from occurring.
One type of endless belts is a woven belt. This industrial belt is made without a splice or seam in order to run smoothly; this lack of a splice or seam means that it has no end or beginning.
