They have limited high and low temperature ratings relative to alloy pumps, meaning that you can only take them so high and so low in temperature before they are structurally incompatible with your liquid. They are less impact resistant than metal alloy pumps, and they are not recommended for flammable liquids. They are also less capable of handling abrasive fluids.
