What are the criteria for inclusion in the Directory?
Each site is reviewed and placed by an Industry Editor. The following is a summary of the editorial criteria used by Business.com in selecting web sites for inclusion in its directory. This summary is not meant to be exhaustive, but only to summarize certain criteria utilized by Business.com Editors:
Minimum requirements for inclusion:
- Web sites must be business-to-business-oriented.
- Web sites relating to a company must provide information about the company's operations, products or services.
- Web sites that provide relevant business content and information such as news, reports and features may also be included.
- Web sites must be active - Business.com will not include web sites under construction.
- Web sites that exist framed within another web site will not be included.
- Web sites must load within a reasonable amount of time.
- Web sites that are outdated, as determined by Business.com, in its sole discretion, will not be included.
- Web sites containing pornographic, violent, racially or ethnically offensive material or other "hate" material, as well as any other content that Business.com, in its sole discretion, believes to be offensive, will not be included.
- Mirror web sites or redirect URLs will not be included.
- Web sites must be in English or offer an English-language version (sites will be mapped to English versions only).
We do not accept:
- Online gambling sites.
- Adult/Pornography sites.
- Online pharmacy sites.
- Retail tobacco sites.
- Payday loan sites.
- Coupon sites.
- Nutritional Supplements/Vitamins/Diet sites.
- Plastic surgery sites.
- Multi Level Marketing (MLM) sites or “Get Rich Quick” sites.
- File sharing and Peer-to-Peer networking sites.
- DUI Attorneys, Personal Injury Attorneys, or any Lawyers/Firms that Represent Plaintiffs Suing Businesses.
- Link-Only Sites or Google Ad Resellers
- Sites with offensive content.
- Mirror web sites or redirect URLs.
- Non-active/Under Construction sites.
- Forms with no corresponding content pertaining to the company’s services.
- Registration sites that do not have free or unregistered content.
Multiple Listings per Category
Business.com does not permit multiple Featured Listings from the same or affiliated company to appear within the same category/on the same directory page. Categories/pages with multiple ads from the same company provide a lower quality user experience and will be removed.
Each Featured Listing within a category/directory page must be for a unique web site and contain unique ad copy. Mirror, framed or redirect sites that have different urls but the same design layout do not qualify as unique web sites.
