What would you recommend for best time tracking tools, like Clockify?
Is there any other free time tracking tool like Clockify, that's free regardless of team size or what features I use?
Hi Alex,
I wouldn't recommend using free time tracking software. While it might sound a good way to start off, it has several limitations and drawbacks.
For example:
1) Limited customer service. These businesses are not like Google that can support endless free customers. Sometimes it takes a certain time to catch up with features it has to offer. And since you chose free tracker, you’ll have to learn everything on your own. Did you know that for example, Toggl charges $95 for a 30 minute 1:1 online consultation?
2) Selling the premium in freemium. The majority of apps isn't completely free. They are Freemium. And it doesn’t mean everything is free :)
3) Privacy: Nothing is free. They should earn somehow to cover costs. Is it about selling your data? Or they just don't want to take responsibility if they lose your data?
4) Paying for premium features is not fully predictable. Often it can cost you even more, and you will understand it already when a lot of time and effort are invested in the system. Once again, Toggl free plan skyrocket to $20/user/month if you need premium features such as tracking reminders, locking time entries and adding time for other team members.
For this reason, we at https://everhour.com have completely abandoned the free plan.
You should look up our product, ClockIt: https://clockit.io
We are easily one of the few tools that have a vast majority of the features that are otherwise spread across multiple tools. Our simply pricing is tailored towards small and medium businesses.
We also include all features in the same pricing tier and do not feature gate anything.
I've been using clockify for a team of 25 and have zero complaints about it. Performance struggles a tad and there is the occasional edge case of buggy-ness, but well worth the massive savings from not using the platform that Clockify closely mimics: Toggl.
Hi Alexandar,
There are many good apps: Tsheets, Clockit, Atto. Our company Turtler is also going to launch a GPS app in July this year. You can also read my article "A Complete Guide to the Top Ten Employee GPS Tracking Systems" at https://turtler.io/news/a-complete-guide-to-the-top-ten-employee-gps-tracking-systems.

Hi Aleksandar,
In my freelance life, I’ve come across quite a few time tracking tools. However, I think my opinion would pale in comparison to the extensive research my colleague Chad Brooks has done on the topic. Feel free to peruse all the in-depth reviews and best picks he selected here: https://www.business.com/categories/time-and-attendance-software/
Most time tracking software has monthly fees associated with them but they aren’t typically too steep. You should be able to find something affordable that meets your needs if you can’t find something suitable that’s absolutely free.
Good luck!
There are a lot of different apps. Some are better than others. It depends. I found an article about time tracking apps in 2019: https://financesonline.com/top-20-time-tracking-software-tools/
There is information about 20 apps, so probably could help.
Best regards!

Hi Alexandar,
You could try Toggl, Harvest, Everhour, Timely, Timing. Those are known to be the best time tracking tools.
Hello Aleksandar, you can try TMetric app. It has enough features to launch a 'smart' and convenient time tracking. One of the best points - TMetric smoothly works without an Internet connection.
I recommend you to use Apploye. You can consider as a better alternative to Clockify. Apploye has some advanced features that make Apploye unique from Clockify.
