Any recommendations for inexpensive conference calling and screen-sharing?
I've used UberConference, Google+ Hangouts, and Join.me, and all have their issues. UberConference's web UI is not good, it lacks flexibility for scheduling, and often has call quality issues. Hangouts is okay, but won't work for phone-only conferences. Join.me has a phone bridge, but requires that the host fire up the meeting on a computer.
Requirements would be:
- Dial-in number
- Web or mobile app for my international users
- Scheduling recurring meetings
- Relatively low cost for about 50 people
- Screen sharing is a big plus, but not a blocker
Notifications and automatic dialing out (like UberConference) would be a plus. So would Calendar integration. (We use Google Calendar right now.)
They all have pros and cons. It often depends on what your needs are and the needs of others who wish to participate. You can mix, match and mashup whatever combination you find fits most of your requirements. GHO ranks high with me and my teams, however Skype is the old stand by. Free Screen Sharing is also another popular option, if you can use landlines. I'm interested to see more suggestions that maybe aren't as popular. And, free is a big plus...Always.
I don't like Google Hang Out because Google wants to own data. If you do a web search on "free conference calling" you will find a couple of different offerings. They seem to work fine -- I've used them for the past two years.
joinme.com is a fine free websharing app. The free version doesn't permit you to switch control, but it allows up to ten participants, and it sets up with ZERO problems and very quickly.
FreeConference.com is great for conference calls, but I don't think they can do screenshare.
I use ClearSlide for demos and screenshare, but it might be too expensive if you are just starting out.
I think SKYPE might have some capability and GotoMeeting is another excellent platform to use.
I really like Team Viewer seems to work good and smooth with lots of features in the free version. Also it never fails irrespective of the environment and OS it runs on.
Ammyy is a great alternative as well http://www.ammyy.com/en/index.html
Many company professionals prefer VNC viewer because of its features and quick access.
For Free conferencing
Free conference call is one of the option https://www.freeconferencecall.com
Uberconference free package is a good option as well https://www.uberconference.com/pricing
I did that already on skype. This software is free. However if you want to be certain of 100% confidencial environment you should use a video conference or chat software on a virtual platform of the company. The disadvantage of such method is that it is not so inexpensive as it is on skype.
Free Conference Call . com seems to be the best for conference calling. sceen shareing is another matter and haven't found one that works well if it is cheap. I suggest using perhaps Join.me for sceen sharing and conferencecall.com for phone.
GoToMeeting works well for screen sharing and videoconferencing. We use it every week for our Monday meetings integrating offices in different states.
Love https://Join.me/ easy to just start using...you don't have to sign up you can just use it even without creating an account and start sharing your screen/presentation.
http://www.freeconference.com/ for setup of calls...domestic are free and you can even setup for international conferences for a small price.
I'm not convince it has to be one application. The low or no cost conference call services work pretty well for voice. GoToMeeting and join.me work well for presentations and screen sharing. I haven't tried video conferencing with them.
i have tried most of them and am most happy with Google Places. I still use Gotomeeting because some people prefer it but probably 80% of my meetings are on Google.
