Any tips for finding and utilizing seasonally popular keywords?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you have tips for utilizing seasonally popular keywords and hashtags (for upcoming holidays, seasons, etc) in a brand's social media accounts. Also, what are some of the best ways to use hashtags and keywords for current events, and apply them to your business? I'd love to hear some of your experiences and successes with this.
Keyword planner is the best tool to check with latest searchable keywords. Also most commonly use the tricky keyword for season time like black Friday, Christmas, new year, independence day,etc.. These were some of the seasonal days were many companies to link their business to cover more audience. You can use hash-tag for searchable and for most common keyword. This will impact good enough if anyone search for specific term of keywords.
First of all try to plan your content or conversational calendars ahead of industry events, holidays and etc. We usually have 3 month content and social media plans on what type of content we are going to produce and share for our buyer personas during specific industry events.
As a matter of fact on our plans we include content headings, SEO keywords, target audience + their stage in buyer's journey as well as in most cases even pre-defined social media hashtags which obviously depend on our target audience.
If you don't do detailed buyer persona research or you don't have too much time to listen to your audience to identify the right keywords and hashtags you can use the following tools and combination of tools:
Trendspottr + Hootsuite, Razor Social and Google Trends
But again these are just tools and the key here for greater success is to understand your buyer personas as human beings and their behavior and possible responses in a social environment.
Hope this helps :)

What the question should be is what keywords bring in buyers over the competition. My company does analysis of this very thing. Go to www.roiiq.com for details.
I would even monitor twitter to see what is trending. Try even setting up a Google Alert. I agree with Adam Brewer.
I agree with Adam's comment but we've also found success with using http://www.hashtags.org/ to see how certain hash tags are working for different brands. Check it out.
Hello Carrie,
My advice would be to write content around these key words on your websites to share on your social pages. I can speak for Facebook, but I've noticed that content written around trending keywords on this network tends to have greater visibility in newsfeeds than posts that do not. These posts can be in the form of links, video, or text (with or whiteout a picture). Hope this helps!
Best,
Jordan Pinzolo
Google's Keyword Planner is a tool that will tell you the frequency, popularity and competition for any keyword or phrase you can think up. It was built as a resource for those building PPC campaign in Google Adwords, but I use it frequently to test out different keywords and phrases and assess the competition. This tool will not only help with seasonal stuff, but also with any keyword information. You may have to create an account to use it but you can find it through the link below:

Also, Google Trends is a great place to find trending topics. This is more geared toward social media. It can be found here:
