How accurate are rank trackers considering the new SERP features and more dynamic results?
Since Google has started rendering the results according to factors such as geolocation, device, E-A-T and multiple data points, one can see different search results for the same search query. How accurate and helpful is the data of ranks provided by these rank trackers?
Yes! Both SEMrush and Ahrefs will highlight various SERP features for your keywords, but they aren't always 100% accurate when it comes to local keywords. To verify local results, if you aren't located in that area, you can install the MozBar and add in geolocations you'd like to search from. BrightLocal also has a tool that can give you a look at the local search results without traveling far.
It's generally pretty helpful, still.
The one place rank trackers can come up short is in locally-based businesses (like if you search "ice cream"). Also, many SERP trackers (like SEM rush) track some of the new search features, like video results, featured snippets, etc. I hope that helps!
