Do I still need to build more backlinks for my website?
Our website mainly provides plastic injection molding services. Now there are over 1,300 backlinks for my website. Recently, one SEO company has suggested helping us do press release backlinks again, but it is really expensive. Is it necessary to accept their suggestion to increase the number of backlinks still? Or do we have enough?

Hello David, yes backlinks are important to rank in keywords, but though my personal experience I would suggest you to advertise your business on real sites instead of PR.
Getting dofollow links from a high authority sites surely help your website.

Having the data you provided, the only thing I can suggest is "keep building backlinks".
It is very important not to stop building links, because the appearing of new links means that your site is still relevant and interesting for people. If you stop building links you will lose in rankings disregarding of how much links you built before.

Hi David,
Backlinks are needed mainly to rank your site on the first page of search engines for the targeted keywords, if your site already ranks, I'd suggest not to buy more links.

The contextual backlink is essential for ranking, I would like to suggest you, just take quality backlink from high authority site.

You should have at least 20-30 backlinks for your website that should be a high authority site.

Backlinks are good for a website, but it must be from High authority and relevant sites. Press release is not the only option, you can create backlinks by Guest Posting, profile creation activities, social bookmarking etc.

What you need to evaluate is the current strength of your search engine presence in comparison to your competitors. While PR marketing is one of the several methods of link building, there are various other strategies available. On the other hand if you have good quantity and quality of links when compared to your competitors, it might be a good time to pick up your blogging and on-site content activities.

Depends. Most likely going to say no to the press release idea but more high-quality links is never a problem and you want to continue to gather them.
First, how is your content ranking currently? If you look in Search Console or your Keyword tool and notice the majority of your page are ranking in the 40+ position then I'd focus on creating new content or optimizing your current content. Throwing more links at content that is not ranking well is probably not the best solution having 1,300 links.
Second, what type of links are those 1,300 and where are they pointing. If a lot of them are low quality, old press releases, etc. Then it will not help to throw more at the problem. Get high-quality DA 60+ links from Guest post, Local Citations maybe if you have a local focus etc. You want these to be "earned links." Press Releases are paid links and even if they land on high domain authority sites Google still gives them less weight. So, even if you boost your rankings some it could potentially be short-lived.
Honestly, if press release backlinks are their solution I'd find someone else to help you with your rankings.

In 2020 you don't need backlinks for ranking on the top page. Now you need very good and informative articles. Article decoration is an important part. You can decorate with images, infographics, animation, etc. Then go for digital marketing. that's it. More backlinks won’t hurt. I would suggest you try and get as many backlinks as possible just make sure they come to form high DA and low spam score sites. You can hire a professional to do that as they have years and years of knowledge of link building.
