Does an updated website improve your business?
Following up on the social networking. If the business is B2B does a content laden up to date website help generate business? If the new site interacts with content from other sources, how likely is it going to help grow the business?
For me an updated website is very important in this day and age...its the first port of call when anyone needs info on any business so a good quality website should be standard practice these days. Its a reflection of who you are as a business and what you represent and i have to admit if the website is of poor quality I would question the quality of the business itself.
Keeping it updated keeps your customers interested and engaged, its builds confidence and customers like to see a fresh approach, out of date or stale content would put me off and when your competing against other businesses in the same sector if you seem outdated then customers will go elsewhere.
You may have an amazing product or service but don't ever become complacent about it...always up your game and keep content current. Start a blog page on your site, become a 'go to' thought leader in your profession, if you have something interesting to say, people will want to know more about you and your business.
I think so. Consider the decision makers in business including those hired to source?. Where do they look to source?.
If your answer is "on the internet", then I hope your website is not only easy to find [links help] and up to date product wise. Please make it interesting, compelling and not just a catalogue. Just my suggestions. I also believe that ten years from now you would not have asked this question.
In this era of technology, everyone is connected to web with some or other medium. Your website or app is the first place where people get information for your business. Its the representation of yourself and your quality of work. In fact, If your website is not current, it looks like your business is outdated, stale and old.
Your website is an important tool for keeping customers informed about the latest updates in your business, so it’s important to ensure what visitors see on your website is current.
You simply need to find out what questions your customers are asking, and ensure your website answers them, preferably better, easier and faster than your competition. If you're updating with this core principle in mind, yes. If you're merely re-branding your site, or adding slabs of content with Mr. Google in mind, no.
Up-to-date properly structured and designed Web sites with the right amount of content can help to grow the business, but there are very few Web sites that can actually generate money by themselves without additional marketing efforts.
Hi Sheldon,
NO website by it's self don't grow your business, your product and your relationship with your clients will.
By having a website you exist and potential clients can search you, it's like a bank, reassuring to see, but by not updating you will lose the respect of your clients, it will look unorganized, potential client will keep it as a reference point with your competitors.
In other words it’s better not to have then to have a poorly kept one.
Yes, updated website do increase the chances of improving your visibility look its like updating your website means you have something new to share among others and if I talk from the search engine point of view they like new updates means the probability of getting ranked among them are way more and having a spot light means you are more vulnerable in getting attention to the people looking for you out.
Hi Sheldon,
Updated website always prepared to be the best ever whatever other strategies that you are following. Why i am saying this is because, according to the google algorithm and their recent updates what many geeks wants and tell the webmasters and the site owners is to update your website content frequently. This makes your website looking fresh, updated and makes decent amount of traffic to your website. This also help in crawlability of your website, if content is updated frequently.
This also gives your customers, users, visitors and followers to know more about your company and your product. Which makes them feel good and gives confidence towards your website, that your website is a trustworthy one. For example - amazon. They keep on updated something new in their website and makes the user engage with their website.
So regular update definitely helps your business growth. All the best :)
Hi Sheldon,
Updating your website is great for a couple of reasons.
Google loves seeing fresh and new content being posted on websites providing it is relevant content. So do the viewers and users of your website. However, it is important to remember that people do not like reading slabs and slabs of content. They will skim read to find what they are looking for, but they wont read every word. What is effective however, is Video.
Having video on your website is great! It is engaging and helps build credibility. A study showed that business that used video on their site, saw an increase of sales between 6 - 36%.
Having this kind of content on your website will definitely increase business.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information on this.
Sheldon ...Just because you have increased the amount of content on your site doesn't automatically mean you'll immediately start seeing more business generated from the site.
The content has to be relevant to your target audience and you have to have the calls to action in your site to take advantage of your content. Then of course you need to have the processes and procedures in place to follow-up on those inquiries. Lastly, when you upgraded your website did you make it easy to (a) navigate the site and (b) find the content that will help your target audience make their decision.
Furthermore there are a host of other factors that impact being found, visitors willingness to interact, and closing business.
Yes, an up-to-date website always helps your business. But you also have to have a website that is user friendly. People want to communicate with your company. They want to be able to do so easily though. If your website is hard to use, people will get frustrated and give up on your page and go on to the next business similar to yours.
If you keep it updated with new things going on with your company and new promotions, you keep your audience in tune with your company. By you adding things like links to other pages you are involved with is always a good thing. It keeps your consumer updated. Always link your website with your other social media pages, i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, etc.
