Yes, I have only been on here for a month, and I've already been engaged by 3 clients for my services.
When I came over to MosiacHUB, I wasn't even thinking of my sales to tell you the truth.
I often do a little pro bono work, and I love sharing my passion with others. I actually came over because I saw some of the questions being asked by people starting out and didn't want them to fall into the same mistakes that many have.
If they then decide to hire me for something, great... but I really couldn't care. I do what I do because it gives me a buzz, it propels me forward. I don't really join a website or community with "how am I going to get money from this" mentality. I find the money comes anyway if you are helpful, and want to help.
Well, it's worked for me so far. :)
This is a great question, Kevin. I have not been on mosaicHub very long, but I do have business associates who have gotten business through this avenue. I personally will be offering a deal very soon that I expect to generate quality clients for my business.
Regarding this question, our research at Affilica International shows that the instinct of corporate executives requires their prospective professional advisor (accountants, lawyers, consultants) to be in a group (the Big4 are for the multi-nationals but here we are talking about others). Corporates are wary of stand-alone organisations due to their perceived lack of group answerability. Referrals normally do not happen from an impersonal social-media community in my long experience of facilitating our group Affilica. Referrals arise from knowing each other and the co-ordinator spending time, effort and resources to make careful introductions to pre-vetted professionals. The analogy I see is that of a dating website compared to a marriage bureau. Anyone got different experience of referrals basis?
Great question Kevin as I have been contemplating the same thing. Yet, I also know that I want quality clients who see the value in my work. To demonstrate that online in a community like this takes time - so I do expect to acquire business from here - and or a referral to someone from here.
Also, you may already be doing these things, I also find ensuring you have a complete profile, contribute articles in the resource arena and then spending time here in the Answers section is important.
Thanks Kimberly for your feedback as well. I will definitely look forward to it.
Michael, I cannot agree with you more in regards to LinkedIn... to much promo pitches in non-related discussion groups, to many non-business topics in the status updates, and I recently started getting spammed by members - unacceptable.
MosaicHub will benefit greatly if they can really filter and establish themselves as the business resource and match maker..... and as I use Elance a great deal - learn from them what doesn't work as well. I am always here to provide feedback.
I've actually had the pleasure of building my network with several other service providers (mostly in creative) and I also gained a client! mosaicHUB is definitely a young company, but it's also one of the more unique platforms for business owners and entrepreneurs, allowing us to be seen by the expertise we put out there. Especially for me, being a young business owner, I've learned a lot from the Q&A on here. I'm definitely looking forward to their new features, and I personally hope they'll continue to help me grow as a business owner. If you have any questions regarding becoming more visible on here, feel free to message me! It took me a little time to figure it out too.
Got to receive a business. Yet, the community is more effective to deal with the interaction and experts standpoint that could facilitate many other businesses to grow more.
i have not received anything as yet but remain hopeful. I have lost faith in LinkedIn which is becoming more like Facebook every day. Hopefully MosaicHUB will become the new business hub for professionals. As such I am willing to contribute as much as I can to help it grow.
I have not received anything yet - but I remain hopeful. mosiacHUB appears to be rather new. Everything grows over time. Facebook also took years to become popular...
I feel the same way... lets see how the new features will help everyone as told by Kimberly.
@Kimberly - we are looking forward to see the new features....
Many of the service providers we've heard from have gotten hired in our Q&A and expert search. Over 70% of our members are businesses, and while there is some expert to expert discussion in the Q&A, there are also a lot of businesses asking for help.
With that being said, we're launching a few new features in the coming weeks to make getting hired easier, including a project proposal portal for businesses. These leads will be delivered right to your inbox in your area of expertise. Stay tuned for email updates in the next week or two.
I hope this was helpful!
