Any suggestions for variable handwriting font for direct mail matured?
I'm looking for mailing houses with excellent handwritten font solutions.
I've always dreamed of quality variable handwriting fonts, where the same letter has variations to avoid obvious clones that destroy the illusion of imperfect writing. For example, with two capital RRs near each other one will have a bigger loop or shorter tail than the next R. Back when I last did mailers it wasn't a viable thing yet.
Getting back into mailing, a recent campaign I mailed had regular handwriting that I thought was decent, but seeing it perfectly level, parallel to the envelope and other address lines, it breaks the illusion. I just came across a company's sample that featured an envelope where the font was variable but also the pitch was sloped. The sloped writing where the "author's" hand traveled up as he wrote out the address takes it to a whole other level.
I'm looking for recommendations for mailing houses with equipment to slope the addressing on envelopes, or, in the least, excellent variable fonts.
Thanks.
Upon further review, the sloping "tech" is simply rotating the text area, something I didn't think about. I was hung up thinking the printing was more structured. The variable lettering tech is still something worth making more mainstream.
