I've created a couple pilots. How can I pitch my ideas to television executives?
Hello, I'm a freelance writer. I've created a couple pilots, what is the best way to pitch my projects for Hollywood? How can I reach investors/television executives from Detroit, Michigan to invest in my original pilots?
Investors and TV execs are very different and need separate approaches. I'd suggest research which investors have previously made investments in similar projects and start there.
You could also look at grants for arts projects or for promoting Detroit (if the pilot is based in Detroit).
For television executives I'd start by focusing on the channels/broadcasters you think the pilot is the best fit for. Do you know who reviews pilots at the first stage to make decisions on which are potentially interesting and which are not pursued further?
Let me know if I can help further - I'd love to know more about the pilot so I can provide more specific advice.

Hey Saffet -
Probably the best bet for funding would be a Kickstarter campaign like this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1357879823/dream-writers-a-television-show?ref=discovery . Once you have a product in hand, then you have something to pitch to the networks.
