How can I best advertise my tree service?
I've been in the tree business for 30 years and established a name for myself. Now another company is taking over the Google search engine results and I need to know how to get to the top.
1. Get your business listed in online directories.
Getting your business name and contact information in as many places as possible helps you get found more easily online.
2. Join a job match site.
That way you are possibly matched with homeowners looking for tree service, landscape, or lawn care services in your area.
3. Create partnerships with other businesses in your area.
Chances are, you know other business owners that you could share referrals with.
4. Utilize Google, Bing, and/or Yahoo advertising.
The benefit to using search advertising is because of the immediacy of the need, and you can target potential customers by time and day, zip code, and loads of other data.
1. Fast and effective - AdWords marketing (by keywords, by geolocation, banners remarketing, YouTube video remarketing, GSP (GMail) ads, GDN ads), facebook marketing (remarketing, geolocation tarketing + interests), Bing search.
2. Slow - work with SEO / local SEO. Register to Google Business, make a blog about your industry. Periodically wirte articles about gardening, tree planting, maintenance. Use backlinks in articles. Make a YouTube channel for Your business. Make a video tips and upload to YouTube. In the description use website link.
I just came across this question when I was searching for tree service advertising. I see below Arborists Near Me I got listed a few months ago and got a couple of good jobs not a lot of leads but paying $200 for the year already made over $1,000 in return. I tried Home Advisor and Thumbtack but it was too competitive, cutting my estimates to win jobs and it was a horrible contact rate. I do SEO and have a good Facebook business page following and make it a habit to try to get a review from every customer. Google my business helps to show up in the maps but if you are in a small town might now generate too many calls but it's free and it helps SEO. Getting listed in different directories helps your website SEO is why I list my company in directories for the backlink. I don't expect to get a bunch of business but for less than $200 a year if I get even 2-3 jobs a year it more than pays for itself. Just my thoughts, hope this helps.

Now in 2020 competitions are easy to deal with. Ranking for a keyword like tree service on google can get you a lot of traffic, which then could be turned in leads. Coca Cola does a really good job at this, They invest heavily in digital marketing. But small business's can rank higher than big corporations, it comes down to how popular your site is and how much time a visitor spends on your site. You need to attract people and keep them on your site, this is where you could have a lot of eye candy in your site: infographics, videos, etc. Have a lot of high authority backlinks, make sure your content is appealing and answers the questions your audience have, also try to put out monthly content. Keep track of the keywords your ranking for and your position. Ranking for keywords are fairly easy, these are basic SEO technics.
It's a usual occurrence these days for companies to overtake other companies on search results, and this is often due to their activities online. It could be a case of how they've setup SEO on their website, or they've invested in Google AdWords to gain more search traffic/position, or they've setup their Google my places account to gain local positioning, or it's the contents they create (EG blogs) and distribute on their website, social media, and other online communities.
These are the things to consider when looking to gain visibility online. I can't find any information about your business (no website to check) so giving advice on this is a bit tricky to be honest.
What is the other company doing online? If they have a website, what are they doing (or have done) on it? Where else are they active (Facebook? LinkedIn?). A deep research could unfold some ideas on how they've been able to climb to where they are.
In your case, what clout have you gathered in the past 30 years (testimonials, awards, press, etc) that you can use to reposition your business? Who's your ideal audience? Do you have a database of leads you can always reach out to? How are your sales doing currently, and what measures do you have in place to improve things (in-house or getting external help - EG a marketing consultant).
These are just some of the things to look into and then decide on the direction you want to go. It'd have been great to see your website or any online platform your business is on to give more insight. If you're open to chat more, feel free to get in touch.
Hi Kieth, you need to build a solid content marketing strategy to win back your search engine positions - there are so many ways you can do this, as Otoabasi has said, if you share a bit more information or your website address then we can look at this for you.
Hire any digital marketer and go for outreach and service to take over the Google Search Engine Rankings which is currently under your competitor's control. If you need any help regarding digital marketing, feel free to ping me i can help you with that
Hello Keith, one more way I came up with is an explainer video for your business website that will make you service much more clearer and attractive for your potential clients. Since such videos tend to be relatively short (30 seconds~) you can be quite confident that your visitors will get the idea as briefly as they can, so there will be no enormous blocks of text, useless images or anything like that. To create such video you will need some animation services from a company like this https://topexplainers.com/ , they will make sure you get a perfect video for your needs.

I run a tree service company here in North Texas. I'm getting 2 to 3 jobs a month from Arboristsnearme.com. It's kind of like a Home Advisor but they only list tree service companies, what's cool is I get a few calls a month from my listing. Leads are $10 each but I'm not paying for leads, they can keep the leads I want phone calls. It's just $19.99 a month and no contract. I'm keeping them as long as I get a couple of good jobs a year it pays for itself. Might wanna try it for your area.
I am not an expert in the tree business, but i'm assuming you serve to your local neighborhoods. An effective way to advertise your business is with targeted direct mail. This is a type of direct mail that uses a mailing list that can be customizable just for your business. Targeted mailing lists can help you target a 20 mile radius of your business, specific household income levels, size of houses, demographics and more! It is the best way to create a list of prospects to mail to that best mirror your current customers.
In addition, direct mail is cheap and if you outsource this service to experts like us, it'll save you more time and money!
Best of Luck!
Hi there. I personally run a tree service website, and the most effective way to get quality leads is from customers' referrals. Reviews can be counted as "referrals". I would ask all my customers to leave a review on Google My Business to boost the referral effectiveness. Of course, showing up on the first page of Google search results helps too.
Referrals are an amazing way to get extra leads! I believe that word of mouth is by far the best way to get new business. At Sioux Falls Tree Service we make sure we treat every single potential customer as if they were our only ones. This way we know they will only have good things to say about us.
Apart from getting listed on local directories (like yellow pages etc), get yourself listed on "google business listing" and request your recent satisfied customers to leave a 5 star review on your Google listing.
Example: If you are located in Katy, TX and you have your Google business listing along with 5 star reviews, you will appear on the first page of Google Search for people in your area (Katy, Tx).
You will see an immediate increase in customer call volume. A website is highly recommended, but not 100% necessary.
The best thing you can do is to hire a specialist tree service SEO company, those organization who offer tree business marketing experience can help you with marketing your business online.
