Hi all -- Looking to see if anyone could recommend a good project management software system (preferably web based)?
I've tried Trello and Asana... Always seems like something is missing. I work on a very dynamic team of professionals in numerous areas. Just trying to determine the best way to work together.
You may try Zoho Projects, it is currently one of the hottest software on the market. It has products in all the categories so it will be easier to integrate different departments of the organization. Other good project management software are Monday, Proofhubs, Wrike and Celoxis.
We are using Comidor (https://www.comidor.com) which is really great!

Why not try Replicon cloud based project time management software - http://goo.gl/Mhm2ru ?
Earlier, I used tools such as Harvest & Freshbooks but it had not been very effective and productivity for our project management needs. Then, I started using Replicon project time management app which has been very simple and can be accessed from anywhere, using web browser. This app has been comparatively very simple & hassle free with simple calendar view interface and all reports can be exported to excel.
I think proofhub (http://www.proofhub.com/?ref=ak) and basecamp (http://www.basecamp.com/?ref=a) are very useful. I'd suggest you to check out these tools.
Michael it depends on what is your goal of using the tool. it's more on having a complete PM tool able to handle any kind of projects, or simply on having a light task managment with strong collaboration features? from your previous attempts it seems that the latter is the case? from your keywords: Numerous areas and dynamic, what you actually need is a strong collaboration platform with PM state of the art features. I would go for Atlassian and Comidor (https://www.comidor.com)
Hi Michael,
I have seen great success through using a combination of tools to meet one of our clients needs. This client uses Scrum, so we need the ability to create a digital board for distributed teams using Trello and Pivotal Tracker.
We used Pivotal Tracker to document "User Stories" or requirements for our clients. Then we would use Trello to keep track of our Iteration backlog and commitments.
Like majority of the other responders said, the tool you need really depends on the process you use and the type of culture your organization works in.
I'm doing a small thing with Freedcamp.com It. seems simple and obvious, which I like.
Hi Michael,
You've gotten a bunch of good answers here but there are a few I have used that I haven't seen mentioned.
I agree with a few posters here that what will work for you really depends on your team's needs. For some teams, Basecamp or ActiveCollab work great, while for others Jira works better. I have often used Jira mostly for bug-tracking.
I haven't seen anyone mention Podio, which is another option.
For all-around, enterprise style, web-based project management/collaboration tools (that I have used professionally), also check out Rally, AtTask, or Daptiv. Rally is great if you're running Agile projects. One of the things I liked about AtTask and Daptiv is their powerful dashboard and budget tracking capabilities.
Good luck!
Have you tried Replicon project management software any time? If not I would suggest you to give it a try. In fact its a solution I would say. The cloud based platform and user friendly and calendar based interface is all set to manage the projects with remote access as well. Check it out here - http://www.replicon.com/project-and-program-management
You can use the Toyota way if projects are not so complex - a simple xls with activities / responsible / timelines / resources / status etc... (can build the format you want); Upload it on a cloud / server / SharePoint to be visible for everyone... and create a MOS to track/handle it...
Most successful projects are the ones that do get tracked, no matter of software used.
Regards,
Andrei
There are a few depending on the type of project. Zendesk is great and one I have worked with. Wunderlust is good too. Also Evernote is awesome!
Check them out and a lot of them let you do free test trials and you can see which works best for your team...
Michael,
I use Basecamp for all of my projects, and it has really come through for me on so many levels! Not only is it easy to use, but it's also extremely helpful with designating accountability for different roles in your project workflow. My clients have been extremely satisfied with Basecamp as a means to not only share files and commentary, but to also have a fairly transparent perspective of my design process. I use Basecamp in tandem with Google Hangouts for video conference calls.
When I was doing project management I found Microsoft SharePoint to be useful. At the time they offered a free project management template. If your needs are modest a CRM product with project management capability is Insightly. It has the added benefit of being free for up to 3 users.
Michael,
Have you checked here?

Hi Michael, Have a look at AtTask (http://www.attask.com), a popular online project management software tool. Erkan
I am also using Comidor and I really recommend it. It's easy to use and learn, affordable and has all the benefits of cloud and online applications. Totally recommend it! Learn more about Comidor's Project Management at https://www.comidor.com/en/features/project-management
