How can I get organized?
A favorite client is nothing short of an organizational jedi. She has the most empty email box I have ever seen, aside from a brand new one. I am looking to inherit top tips, tricks, apps and habits to help me organize projects. I know there is Asana, etc, but email, docs, reporting all seem to demand an overhaul currently.
Your to do list should comprise your most important things of the day at the top. Emails could be done before or after lunch and no more than thirty (30) minutes. Things that don't need your direct attention should be delegated to specific persons. Emergencies... should always be taken care of with personnel that can take over when the fire is out. Evernote, Wunderlist, & Asana are some helpers to make life easier and sync your day.

Great suggestions from lots of people, here! I am a fan of Evernote because of it's great search capability and that it can link with your computer, phone, tablet.
How is your mental clutter? If you are overwhelmed mentally, that is going to effect your ability to get organized. Do you meditate? Take mental breaks? Even if you sit and close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing it can make a huge difference.

1. Social, Strategize, Share 6am till noon
2. Create, Call, Campaign 2pm to 5 pm
3. Meet, Mix, Mash 6 pm to 10 pm
Hi Kahshanna, when I do my time management training for clients I give them a range of tools to take away and try out because different things appeal to different people. But one thing you might want to try is working in 90 minute 'chunks'. So, you decide what it is that you want to work on, get everything ready for that, turn your phone to silent, set the timer, and then you work on that thing and that thing only. At the end of the 90 minutes, even if you are in the flow and going great guns, you take a break, a real break - get a cup of tea, short walk - anything that is nothing to do with the task. Then, if you need to do more work on it, you do the same thing again. This works well because our brains tend to cycle in 90 minutes and we begin to lose concentration at the end of that period. I also find that doing this, I tend to really get down to the task because I know I only have 90 minutes. Being organized to free you up so that you can be out in the world doing what you love!
1. Three most Important Tasks. Writing down and making mental note of your top 3 tasks to get done for the day. Everything else seems to fall into place if I do that. This is called a MIND DUMP!
2. An easy and workable task list, or to do list. I use Wunderlist & Asana. Choose one tool and stick with it. Keep a to-do list app that syncs with your mobile phone (so you can add stuff as and when you remember it). And make sure every item has a due date. The ones I use do just that!
3. Do one thing at a time. Do it now.
4. Make use of the word "NO".
5. Change. It obsoletes unimportant things. It brings down any method or idea that isn’t timeless. It brings up newer and more important things that you and others can’t resist anymore. Best of all: it’s an organizing tool that operates itself. You simply have to embrace it.
6. Delegate. Learn to trust people with critical tasks in all areas of your life. When you learn to effectively delegate tasks you actually find that it is easier to keep the stuff you cannot delegate better organized.
7. As for your EMAIL, Clean out your inbox constantly.
Automate as much as you can Kahshanna. Use email filters to keep inbox clutter-free. Set a time of cleaning and stick to the routine even if you have just one email to trash.
Use email scheduler to save time. I love sidekick.
Todoist is good to keep me on track for completing tasks. Not more than 6 tasks a day. 3 big - 3 small
Create a blueprint of weekly reporting for yourself (helps with self review) and clients. One time effort but saves hours for lifetime.

Kahshanna I can not advise with respect to tips, however I do know that it takes 21 days to make of break a habit. So apparently if you manage to structure your goal to remain more systematic and structured, you may find you become more organized. Extend that effort for a series of days, on into week(s) and find/meet, Kahshanna the noticeably more organized.
