How can I improve my oral english to help me better communicate with clients?
I am a foreign trade salesman in China and I generally communicate with my clients online. My English isn't good enough so I usually use Google translator to help communicate with English-speaking clients.
I hardly have a chance to talk in English in my daily life.
Sometimes my clients come to my company and are surprised to find that I can't talk to them fluently.
I want to take a class to practice but I found the charge is high and the teacher is not professional enough.
Hope you can give me some advice, thanks a lot.
In fact, you can only do a full-fledged skill breakdown if you look at how many foreign languages you know. I had a problem with that, and I needed to make a normal quality translation. I remember how much I had to put myself through. Luckily I only succeeded after I simply turned to professionals, for example I found a list of companies that provide translation services USCIS https://pickwriters.com/uscis-translation-services , so if anyone needs it, this is the most logical and correct option to turn to for these cases. Good luck, I hope I helped!
If you want to improve your speaking skills but do not have regular opportunities to practice it, I would recommend getting deep into a language in your routine life. For example, watch the weather forecast in English, listen to English songs and try to understand and repeat phrases, practice to translate everything you see: advertisements on billboards, newspaper titles, text messages. Download an offline dictionary on your phone - you will be always able to find unknown words. And I guess, you may like these videos - Jack speaks quite slowly and understandable: https://youtu.be/Z7PGRbvJBkQ
You can search that on YouTube and find videos you like a make your own playlist and share with the ones who are starting to do this.
In addition to what has already been recommended, I suggest you read English text out loud. This will get you used to the rhythm and flow of the English language. People will always recognize the Chinese cadence in your voice, but your English will improve over time.
Good afternoon! There are tons of studying material you can find for free on the Internet. I mean, different books, lectures, videos, recommendations from top speakers, and so on. The problem is that we should value time. I recommend you try to pass IELTS. While preparing for that, you will improve all your English skills!

The English language is one of the easiest languages to learn in the world. To learn it, therefore, do the following;
1. Get the 26 alphabetical letters in the English language and know how to write them. I mean from letter A to the last letter Z.
2. Go to Youtube and insert "Learn the English language" in the youtube browser. This teaches you further on how to pronounce the letters and how to learn the language in general.
3. Look for English write-ups, like mini-articles, and start to read. The more you read the better you get at it.
4. At your leisure time at home, tune in to English speaking TV stations and listen to English programs.
5. Lastly but not exhaustive, always take the opportunity to speak with your English speaking clients at the workplace.
I hope these points will help you to get by in the language.
Hi Nora Lin,
I highly recommend watching English-speaking television shows as often as possible. Try watching something easy, about everyday life, like "Friends" or "New Girl." The context of the show can help you pick up new words. I have many friends who learned English this way.
You can also use free language apps; for example, I used Duolingo to learn Spanish. It is a free app that lets you practice reading, writing and speaking. Since it is accessible on your phone, you can practice it any time of day.
I hope this helps. Best of luck!
Skye
Google Translator is not great, but maybe better than nothing.
Do you have any friends who speak English who would be able to help?
