How can I monetize a talk like TED?
I am currently working along side with Phillips Healthcare's Education portfolio in providing continuous medical education on different specialties of Healthcare (Cardiology, Physiology, Oncology, etc.) in the UAE. I would like ideas on how to incorporate medical education tourism and a TED talk in the Middle East region and monetization options.
With TED being non profit, there are ways to create partnerships that benefit both parties. It all depends on the legislation of each organization.
Leroy: I concur with Daniël A.D. Berckenkamp, monitization in the medical education arena is normally done via sponsorships (and to a lesser extent advertising). I would also consider a paid-access membership program.
Regarding monetisation of an actual TED talk you should keep the following in mind:
"TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). " quoted from their website.
That aside monetising conferences is usually done with sponsors and selling advertisement opportunities.
