What are some ideas for unique events to host during Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday is coming up at the end of next month. I think this is a great opportunity to host some events in my community and maybe partner with other local small businesses to get customers in the door. What are some interesting event ideas that would help my business and promote other small businesses in my community?

Jason,

As an event planner, you're in the perfect business for creating a Small Business Saturday event.

What immediately comes to mind is a "scavenger hunt" where you direct visitors to go to each participating business to collect a stamp on an entry form. If they visit each of the participating businesses they are eligible to receive a prize. If you have 20 businesses willing to contribute $50 each, you can offer a $1000 gift certificate which can be redeemed at the participating businesses. That would be an attractive prize and would bring heavy traffic into the participating businesses. Most business owners would spend $50 to benefit from walk-in traffic where they can show their best face to potential local customers.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to talk through more ideas.

Regards
Ray
