How do I get started with online advertising without divulging the name of the company?
I am looking to attract new customers who seek healthy alternatives at affordable prices. It is important for me to be able to speak with individuals and build a relationship, but I've found that people do not want to take the time to talk. Is online advertising the better way to build a relationship with my customers?
we offer you the solution: send vcard via whatsapp with your company logo, phone number (clickable) and website (clickable).
Online advertising can help but as with any form of advertising you need to make sure you advertise to the right people. This means your adverts should only show up when a person identifies itself as someone that might thing "yes that's what I need" after seeing your advertisement. Basically you should always know your customer and use that knowledge to plan your approach.
You mention however that you feel that it is important to speak with people and build a relationship. Adverts do not really give you that opportunity but perhaps you might well benefit from community management. Community management is a very powerful marketing tool but it takes time investment. Since time investment is the only investment it takes it can also be a very cheap way to advertise your product. (If you do not have this time however it will often cost some money to hire someone to talk to people for you.)
Since you don't want to reveal your company name this might very well be a good start though. I could suggest some reading into the subject but in all honesty you can probably just use some common sense to achieve your goals. Since your product or company does not have a community yet you can invest your time in building one. Plan this out well and by the time you do want to go public with your company name you can start off with a good group of people that are interested in what you are selling. (they are also more likely to listen to what you want to say)
I would suggest to start some conversations about your healthy alternative in for example forums where people come to read about healthy alternatives. There are many such forums so make a list and identify the right ones to invest your time in. You can also try social networks or things like reddit, I personally find it helps when you chose a medium which you are comfortable with.
Once you launch I would keep up your community management. It can also help to create a place where people can come and talk about your product/business.
Hope this helps you somewhat. There is much, much more to be said in answer to your question but I reckon this might be a start for you. Oh and be creative and sensible in your approach that helps in marketing. Good luck!
Is this a direct sales company? If so, do they provide advertising parameters for you to follow?
There are a number of ways to do this its a matter of sparking peoples curiosity if you would like to discuss more feel free to contact me.
Hi, I wanted to see if you have a website or any online presence.
A great way to connect is to offer some free information like an ebook or tips sheet that is helpful to your target market. You send it to them when they sign up for your newsletter on your website. You should be able to automate this. You can see a sample of how it works on my website if you need to.
Also facebook advertising is great too! Good luck!

I'm curious, what's the purpose of not wanting to divulge the name of the company?
It's my experience that with a good marketing strategy you can build likability, rapport and call your customers to action without the face to face contact and it's far more affective ROI than straight advertising. It's crucial for any business to have a marketing strategy and you ned to know your customers ( who's your perfect customer) tailer your marketing strategy for them.
Be a great observer – marketing is about observations. What are other people doing? What are your competitors doing? What are your customers doing? don't be afraid to ask your customers what they like and don't like, or ask them to refer you or give you referrals (personal referrals are very powerful) spend a lot of time just sitting and observing, reviewing material, brochures, advertisements, the internet and actual businesses to come up with new ideas and find ways to do better.
There are opportunities everywhere, we just have to open our eyes to new possibilities. - Andrew Griffiths
You can proceed by starting or joining a forum related to your business proposition. You might have a little difficulty starting an anonymous online advertisement that does not have a direct link to the product or a person. On the alternative you can have a personal website and ask your friends to join you. You can start with a personal story and encourage your friends to try the products out. People seem to have lost grip of their time lately but being friends as never failed
I agree with a lot of what Chad has said. You are wanting to build relationships and so doing this via social networks is probably the way to go. If you believe in the product and stand up as a leader and expert than people will see that and want to know. I am in a similar situation where I am in network marketing and can market under myself, but i don't actually mention the company I partner with until people have actually mad an inquiry and I have spoken to them. actually I just came across a video done by tony robbins about building rapport you might find helpful. I posted it on my blog today.
I strongly believe that you can't do online advertising without naming the company! This company offers the best deals, this company has 0 interest for 5 years, and so on! My question to that type of ad will be something like 'Who do heck is that company and how do I sign up?'
So to answer your question, NO! you can advertise a company without naming the company, or the product!
Kelly. It doesn't matter what the company name is. Besides I am having a lot more fun pretending you're in the CIA. So ignore the experts online that say online advertising isn't the way to go when they're giving that advice online.
I'm just saying.
If you're not having instant success, be thankful. It usually means you had amazing marketing but doesn't mean your product is amazing.
If you personally are excited about the product. Identify what makes it exciting to you and use that for your reasoning. The best thing about everyone's favorite brands and products is they've been around for a long time. Not one of them was an overnight success.
Contact the buyers in the businesses/areas/whatever you want to sell to and go old fashioned and introduce yourself and your product.
Be honest and authentic and if you have a product worth it, ignore the no's and not interested. Their loss.
The yes is there.
I've worked with people before in your situation. In order to differentiate yourself, you need to take control of your marketing, but...the company you sell products for has very strict rules on marketing their products. This usually means you can't have your own website or even a Facebook page in some cases.
My advice is to market yourself as a brand. Be the expert in what it is you sell. As the expert, people will ask you questions and then you can pitch the products that you sell to them. Start a blog, setup a Facebook page. Just use yourself as the resident health expert - leave the brand out of it.
I am working with a client that is a insurance agent and I recently gave him this same advice. I also have Herba-life clients in a similar situation. You can bypass their rules with some creativity.
Kelley...there are a number of things that jump out at me from your question -
1. As Joseph asked, why is it you do not want to divulge the name of your company? That in itself would cause me to engage, and could others if you are asking for them to divulge to you about their needs and pains, yet you aren't divulging.
2. What tactics are you using that you are finding them unwilling or desiring to talk? Your statement is 'new customers who seek healthy alternatives'...so they are seeking something, so you need to consider your messaging or approach to building relationships, that is causing them not to want to engage.
3. Online advertising is not typically the way to build relationships...so what are your specific goals and objectives for advertising, building relationships, etc. ? If you don't have those goals defined, it could be what you are missing in approaching prospective clients appropriately to where they want to listen.
4. To add to number 3 - Understand, if someone seeks health alternatives they will find it and take the time to find it.. You need to figure out what your value proposition is to your potential clients, if you have the products/services they seek, and deliver on what they are looking for in a trusted business provider.
5. Based on your notes regarding online advertising and building relationships with those that 'seek health alternatives at affordable prices'...do you know who those prospective clients are, where they hang out and where/how they want to be communicated and prospected?
And as noted previously - why are you not divulging your company name in the efforts you are taking?
