How do I really drive more traffic to my blog?
There are a lot of articles about this on the net, but it would be great to hear from someone real who has actually been through the growth curve of building website traffic.
My name is Loren and I run a Strategic Marketing Agency in Norway. The most of our clients have the same problem; the internet is crowded and it is difficult to grow. I'll share with you some tips to grow your blog traffic in a smart way:
1. I do not know what the topic of your blog is (I assume filming/film industry), but you have to niche it down. The more specific you are with your content, the more people will go to your web to get answers.
2. Give answers to people's problems. Do not think about you, but about them. What are your ideal audience doubts, problems, or fears?
3. Think strategically about Google and Search Engine Optimization. Google is a search engine, so you need to optimize your website to be found. What would your ideal reader/follower type in order to find you?
4. Use Social Media. Nowadays everybody is on social media. Optimize your profile and include CALLS TO ACTION in your publications. For example, if you are writing about "The best angles to show emotion in a movie" on your blog, share a post on your social platforms talking about that. It is not enough saying "Hey guys check this out!". Instead, you have to highlight the strong points of your article and give your followers a real reason to read that post.
I hope these tips are helpful! If you want more tips about business/growth strategy I suggest you watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IU-ReVh914&t=59s). It is an 8-minute video developed by my team and me, where I explain how to make customers fall in love with your business. We also have a podcast called "Viking Mark Radio" where we talk about Strategies to Grow Online. If you're interested, you can find it on Itunes :)
I launched my online business at the back end of January and have been doing my own optimization on the website. The way I see it, you either optimize your website and battle the long game or rely on paid advertisement and social media advertising to get you noticed until you build up a following. There are a huge amount of Youtube tutorials which can help you understand how to optimize your site and what effects google rankings.
Hope this helps,
