How do you define success?
Success is define to as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. In your own opinion, how do your define success?
It's having the freedom to dream big and pursue the things your passionate about without compromising your values and what you stand for.
I define it as a little combination of many of the prior postings. Success to me is using my skills to better my region and move it forward. It is also being able to do so and provide for myself and my family. And taking those things together, it is being able to constantly improve and strive to be the best I can at what I do.
In 2014 people have their own personal measurement of success. Some people have philosophical definitions of success, others have tangible ways of defining success, like if I make $$$ I will be successful.
I personally have gone through so much in my life and have learned that there is really only this definition of success for me.
Am I brining joy to myself? Then do I'm I bringing joy to others.
I have found no matter what goal I set or definition I use to set for success. If I wasn't happy and experiencing true joy it didn't matter. Success would come and go. Then I would have to work towards the next goal.
When I learned that if I strive to be joy to myself success was natural. Then when I brought joy to others in the process it took me to another level of success. And yes I am talking about in my personal life and professional life. I met amazing people, my business grew, I was able to make the money (energy) I wanted to make without struggle.
That is my definition of success, do I bring joy to myself and then do I bring joy to others.
If you want me to elaborate please let me know.

I define success as living a life of satisfaction. Read more here and let me know what YOU think...http://www.lifebiz.biz/what-is-a-satisfying-life/#.UuzdOLTi_AM
I'm going to measure success in my company as reaching the point where it's self sustaining and growing.
Success for me is generating enough net income to take care of my needs, while generating enough new ideas and challenges to create a need for more revenues - eagerly taking on new challenges without having to worry about covering the basics.
By having a healthy work/life balance. Here is also a blog that I wrote in relation to this topic.

For me, Success is being content in all circumstances. When you have learned the true meaning of being content, you will understand what success means.
I disagree:. I believe contentment is the exact opposite of success. I believe the healthy, eager striving for improvement in one's life, or in the lives of others, is true success.
I look at it less poetic. If I can complete a task knowing I did my best, that is success. If I can feed my family this week, that would be success.
Living life as a sincere human being is a definition of success that sidesteps the details of how you make a living, how much money or property you own, or how much power or influence you have. As a sincere human being, what matters is whether you are you someone who contributes to suffering, or who is dedicated to easing suffering.
Doing what you want, when you want, with the people you want to do business with. In other words, living by your own rules instead of someone else's.
Professional: Simply to be fortunately enough to do what you love, cannot ask for anything more than that!
Success.. is a thing that we do really expect to achieve within a short frame. But it's all that we do acquire only after investing our efforts and time for a long time. And, that moment of standing-out after a defeat is something "wordless" and it's the real succession we'd want and will stay evermore :) Just another mightiest thing.
Great question. Success has many facets depending on which on you wish to define. For example, I wrote two books, and while they are not best sellers or perhaps not sellers at all, I felt successful because I accomplished the goal I set out to do; write a book (or two in this case). It's truly your vision of self worth/accomplishment and what value system you use to make this determination. Just like your fingerprint is uniquely yours, so is success for everyone.
Albert Einstein once said "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value". Most of the entrepreneurs i'm in contact with tend to think that if they worked hard, build their idea to the level of a functioning company, but couldn't get the next investment round or the company was closed, they didn't make it. The fact is, that you gain a lot of experience and networking during your work, that you can apply for your next companies. So for me, success is never lose the lesson, strive to be of value, and always keep trying.
Nicely said Matthew!
