Yes, many organizations use social media as a crisis communication tool. Organizations can use social media to communicate with different groups of stakeholders during short period of time. Many organizations use Twitter, social network sites, and organizational blog, to communicate with their key audiences amid the current global health crisis.
As for using social media to help our society/community/SMBs, people can encourage their social media connections to support local restaurants by ordering takeout.

Social medial as a tool in communication is as effective as other forms of communication like print media and television media. One of the most common form of social media platform used in communicating in today's world is Skype. There are other forms of social media platforms like face book, LinkedIn, Instagram, and so on. Incorporating social media into corporate organisation has become the normal norm in today's corporate world. Some company now use different forms of social medial platforms as a tool is reaching their clients and dispersing information to various stakeholders
