Titus, so many answers have been already provided. Honestly, haven't managed to read all of them, so apologies if my answer has been already told by someone else.
I believe, blog is very essential in business, particlarly, for attracting new potentials using the web search. Just don't make the mistake many others do - do not create blog only for SEO purpose, hence, totally SEO-optimized. It will help you with Google search ranking, but will disappoint your clients.
Find the golden mean bentween search rank content and the unique, really useful one. It won't start working straight away, but you'll definitely see the results in some time.
Good luck with that!
I think a blog can help one to establish their credibility on a subject matter; which is good to keep people coming back to read what you post. As you build credibility, what you sell or promote has more teeth because your value in having expertise speaks for itself. Blogs are also great ways to increase your presence on internet searches; again increasing your exposure as an expert in your field. I don't blog to make money or gain paying customers, I blog/share information useful to people in their lives and/or businesses.
A blog isn't required for a successful business, but in today's world with people hopping online to vet a business before getting into bed with them so to speak, a blog can be extremely helpful. It does need to look nice and professional, and be updated regularly, especially if it's a new blog, rather than an established one though, so if you can't do that, or hire someone to handle that, you are probably better served by holding off on one for the time being. A blog is sometimes the first impression someone may find of your company and biz, and if it doesn't make a good one, you've just lost a potential client/customer.
to answer first the question you ask about the website. Good content is always more important than catchy elements. And content can include still images, videos and podcasts, as well as text. And if you use WordPress you don't have to be expert in building a website. You can get a free theme, or - better - spend a bit of money and get a premium theme. I and many others use the Genesis template and one or other Child Theme, from Studio Press. There are others.
As for your heading "How essential is a blog in business?" Interesting question. I would say it is not essential but it is potentially very valuable. The main reason is that a blog, well maintained, is a dynamic site, as distinct from most websites, which are static. The fact that the blog has fresh content on a regular basis (if it does) should help with SEO and also make the site - and you/your business - more interesting to visitors.
Hey Titus,
Great question, and one I'm often asked by my clients. (They often see it as a chore.) And while a blog is not required, it's recommended. I recently posted a video about this very subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfLtJ-3t5yM There are quite a few benefits to blogging. Check it out! I am here if you have any questions.
Good luck!

If you are not using your blog to build your business and client database, then you may be wasting your time. One recommendation is to keep your blog content focused on your marketing message and brand message. Make sure your offer them a "next step" opt in to collect their contact information. A successful blog isn't one that gets 1000 hits a day. A successful blog is one that collects contact information from interested/potential clients.
A blog provides opportunity for you to demonstrate your expertise and involvement with particular subjects. It is an extension of your corporate and personal brand. The value perceived will be directly linked to the quality of the content that you deliver, link to, and participate in. Catchy and fun is good if balanced with some deeper purpose and impacful content. You should think about the themes and stories that you want to share and explore, then go at them with vigor. Also give some thought to who you're trying to reach, and make your content conversational with that audience. Do it! And good luck!
Important as another tool in your armoury for connecting with your current and potential customers. Lots of great answers here and as people have said, only commit if you are prepared to keep it up to-date and current. Nothing sadder than going to a blog and seeing the last post was in 2012.. Think of the old mantra " content is king "
Blog is important these days as it helps in your ranking in Online presence as well as is key to make customers for long term. Its good for every business around to update customers with companies activities and more.
WordPress Blogs are easy to design and manage as well.

Hello,
We all are story tellers and our target audience love stories. Blog is an informal way of telling your stories. Use your style and freedom of expression to tell your stories. A word of caution, be professional in your content writing.
Good Luck
Thank you

It's critical if you want to build a tribe of people/clients who know, like and trust you. Who become subscribers, who tell others about you, and who buy what you offer, time and again.
The key thing you want to accomplish with a blog is for people to come away feeling that the understand you and your business better. Ideally, while guidance should take customers step closer to reaching out to you doing business.
So, are catchy elements and reliable/attractive links required? Maybe, maybe not. You don't want the blog to be ugly, but if it gets out of its own way that's probably sufficient.
What's critical when writing a corporate blog is that you provide interesting, provocative, useful information which bonds those readers to you. Catchy graphics can help accelerate that process, but what really matters is the quality of the content.
So, I'm going to ask you: do you feel you know your business well enough to write short items about it that would intrigue people and keep them coming back? If yes, then don't sweat it about the links and artwork just yet.
By the way, if you want to improve your WordPress blog's look and feel right away, you may want to put out a request for proposals on a site called People per Hour. You can get a lot done that way for very little money if you use offshore contractors.
Blogs are a great way to increase SEO, but they are also a huge workload, and in today's age, a lot of clients have no time to read them. As someone who deals with people who have reached information overload, I can tell you that depending on your clientele, skimming could be all you'll get. If you're looking for something to increase turnover, a blog may not be the answer. The only time I would say this isn't true is for creative people offering a mainly visual product (photographers, artists, etc.) or a written one (books, ebooks, etc.). Your content has to be REALLY good to make it in a saturated world.
In present era there is necessary of web blog, for catchy presentation use different, unique, and according to your business contents,...,try to make this link on all social networks, e.g facebook, linkedin, pintrest,...
A blog is definitely not essential!
My usual response (as I am asked this quite often), is what purpose would your potential blog serve?
Most people believe that they have information of value and consider therefore that others have a need to know. The truth is that most people’s information is already accessible and more readily available else ware.
A blog’s value to your site’s SEO should be scoped, ranked and prioritised, there are likely to be far more resource effective ways to improve your web page indexing.
Look closely at the blogs of your contemporaries and key competitors, how many views and comments have they generated? The vast majority of blogs are the scratching of individuals without an audience, and unless you are particularly good communicator and your subject matter is extremely topical, its content is never viewed by any of the folk you thought might be interested.
We are interested on your query, let me know how can we go start from here.

Prior to responding to questions, I scan any prior responses, Bill Barlow touched on exactly what I was going to say.
• It is necessary in getting your site ranked.
• It identifies you as an expert in your field - providing your content is relevant.
• The content should be related to your business. Don’t blog about subjects that aren't of interest to YOUR target market.
…and, make sure your blog posts are periodic, ideally at least once a week.

Hallo Kevin! Thank you very much! would you mind to tell me more about getting my site ranked?
Great responses here. I would add a tip that if you do decide to blog, choose a theme or topic stream that you LOVE.
It is so easy for me to write content for my blog about personal branding, because I love it.
Choose something you think about all the time and are compelled to write about and you will find it much easier to sustain the effort required.
What a great help Anne! I hope i will contact you for more information towards this improvement!
