I have to say it's not that easy. First of all, it takes many hours to develop such application. Besides, an app like Uber consists of few elements (the customer app, app for a driver, administrative panel). I recommend you to read this article, I think you'll not have any questions after reading - woxapp.com/en/how-to-build-an-app-like-uber/
You can find many companies are providing uber like taxi rental apps and websites. I will not recommend you to go with that, it will be very cheaper but will not give you a quality product and support.
A customized product which satisfies your unique business model and design will help you to succeed. It will be more expensive to built. The development cost depends on company and location. If it's an Indian company, cost will be $20000 to $30000 and may require 4 - 6 months time to develop, test and launch.
Hope this help you.
It is not difficult to build Uber like app. We are into the business of developing Apps. We get inquiries for similar App from clients having cab / travel business.
Building the app is not difficult but building a business around it is much more challenging. We constantly get people asking us for apps like Uber, Airbnb, Ebay, Just Eat, etc. There are a number of issues you have to consider:
1. Product Definition
Every time we get a requests such as “Can you building me an app like XYZ?” our immediate response is “Have you documented your requirements?”.
Usually people think what they see on a website or an app is all that happens, and forget the fact that there is huge process, database, and support services behind these apps. Apps do not live in a vacuum and you need to set out all the scenarios of a transaction and have answers. You can't have someone order a cab, and then say to them “Hang on, we never had a request like this one, so we will get back to you!”. This is not how these things work, not if you want to be successful.
Most people also have very limited budget (I have had people with less than $500 for this!). Just read up about Uber, AirBnB, etc. and see how much cash they burn through. The cash burn is not just about advertising, but is also about operational costs such as recruitment, legal, licences, maintenance of software, enhancements of service (and software), etc.
3. Supply Chain
You need to create 2 sides of a coin. Service delivery depends on both creating demand and supplying that demand. So you need to recruit potential users (passengers, guests, hungry people!), and then deliver fulfilment (drivers, accommodation, restaurants, etc). This all needs to be tied up with the app, so in essence your app is the simplest part.
I have not written this to put you off getting an app done, but to help you appreciate the magnitude of the task you are about to embark on.
Will be happy to help you define and create the app, but raising funds and marketing will not happen just because you have an app.
I hope this helps but contact me if you need any specific help or support.
There are a lot of things to be considered while developing a mobile app (Android/IOS/Hybrid). Like its security, the platform used to develop the solution for optimal user experience, finding bugs etc.
Anyway, we at Wiinnova Software Labs could provide the ready-to-deploy fully customizable real-time uber like mobility app solution for USD 10,000 including maintenance and support. We also provide free demo version of the solution.
