How do I categorize inventory on my online clothing website?
I'm trying to decide the appropriate way to categorize my inventory. It's women's fashion for pants, dresses, skirts, tops, and misc accessories. I don't want to create too many different categories.
Could "skirts and dresses" be one category, or should I create a separate one for skirts and one for dresses? The same would apply for pants and shorts, etc.
Really simple:
buy many tshirts in various sizes. Color and fit won't matter much and you will see why in a second
Hire an employee. Their job title: Tshirt Relief (don't lose me yet folks)
Have said new employee suggestively remove current tshirts from potential clients on street
Strategically place your tshirt selling stand within proximity of where your employee is performing his "pre-qualification" on customers
Identify your target audience (they will be without tshirts) and try these tactics for your best conversion metrics:
Create a memorable ad within store to attract customers. Remember, everything stems from a pain that person may be having that exact moment.
If said customer does not engage with you the first time, no sweat. Make sure you use remarking or retargeting tactics to ensure conversion. I just suggest not following too close if retargeting.
Value proposition is key as mentioned above. A good discount can go far in regards to conversion... although your audience may want service and quick delivery more than they do a discount. Decide where you stand
Create a loyalty program. A good win back campaign never hurt anyone - it will just be weird to ask every person for their email but hey, its almost 2016. Should be fine, at least follow them on instagram.
Speaking of which, make sure you keep your instagram page fresh. Think of those family restaurants that used to put everyone's picture on the wall with the owner as if they literally portrayed themselves as being part of the largest family and community ever. Think like that it'll work you'll see.
I hope you enjoy some satire in between good information. If you are looking for high production, feel free to message me as I can help you in the textile's world via a close friend.
Have you ever visited teespring.com? Hopefully you'll get some ideas from there.
I think, better to categorise in different way, like one for skirts and other for dresses. Skirts are mini skirt, flared skirt, long skirt, wrap skirt, bubble skirt, if your business has different types of skirts then make separate category. Otherwise make "Skirts and dresses" be one.
