How can I increase my chances of writing for big name publications?
Hey,
I have a lot of experience and knowledge as a financial writer, and I would like to submit a couple of posts to the big publications such as Forbes, Business Insider, NYT etc..
What is your way of building your name and get featured on these sites?
When we talking about top publications like Forbes and Business Insider, nothing goes around submitting a perfect pitch which their editors like. Relevancy of the article, length, content calendar, a plethora of pitches, and schedule: there are a lot of barriers before you get published on these sites.
Additionally, they have started monetizing this too. Like if you pay, you can be published. They have paid programs. Here's an example from Forbes, https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesbusinesscouncil/#6863a53b1938
I personally haven't been published on these sites and I have never submitted a pitch as well. I want to break a groundbreaking article first which will increase my chances of publication here. That's how I think about it.
You can begin by sending some your sample articles to the links mentioned therein. Yes and that should have your brief profile as well, your past achievements, and a summary of bullet points on how you engage your audience.
