What steps should I take to open my own advertisement agency?
I want to open my own ad agency. I have good designing skills in 2D graphics, 3D animation, and motion graphics. I need guidance on the best way to market my business, attract clients, land jobs, and how to close deals.
I appreciate any tips, thank you!
Animation is one of the latest trends in web design. Its popularity is fickle, but animation is always present somewhere as an integral part of every site. You can see here professional web designers in Singapore. These are tiny, barely noticeable loading indicators, and entire landing pages that look like they're showing you a movie-animation permeates all areas of design.
You'll need a client. A client is someone with a budget, who needs advertising to promote their company/ product/ service and who thinks you can do a better job of it than any of the millions of others out there with a proven track record.
So you need to find a way of convincing this client that you are the best, or that you are the one they know and who is available with the necessary knowledge and skills.
You convince them by showing them work, case studies, industry awards etc which generate the feeling they are in safe hands. So have you this work, these case studies etc?
When Charles and Maurice Saatchi started in the 70’s, there is a story (true or otherwise) that they showed a potential client around their fledgling agency, which was full of busy workers. The client, pleased to see that this start-up was indeed a functioning advertising agency with staff and clients, awarded them their large account. Except all the ‘staff’ were actors, hired by the hour to make the agency seem bustling.
I have no way of knowing if this is true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Agencies are often unscrupulous. But to pull something like that off nowadays would be virtually impossible. Stick to being honest, authentic and being what you appear to be.
You should first look at the competition because the advertisement industry is saturated.
The thing an ad agency needs the most is customers. You should start with the people within your circles and see if they need anything you have to offer. You should offer your first 3-5 or even 10 customers that you'll do the work pro bono. The internet is overly saturated with "good designers" so I'd recommend word of mouth exclusively. A website or online profile won't do you much good this early on.
