I need some help classifying my work title and billing amounts, how do I bill a client?
I started working on a part-time basis for an individual as a personal assistant and agreed to 20 hrs a week at an hourly wage. My intent was to look for a corporate role somewhere while doing part-time work.
Quickly he realized that I was more than capable to help him with other business endeavors. I worked 60-80 hrs a week, nights, weekends and holidays; wore multiple hats.
I need help identifying the specific hats I wore so that I can provide a realistic pay rate for each so that we can determine my ongoing pay.
Here is what I provided:
Personal assistant work - everything from hiring lawn care, maintenance men for home repairs, handling leases on cars, paying bills, managing multiple franchise tax and registered agents for LLCs and LTD, shuttling his children, caring for pets while out of town, etc.
He worked with well over a hundred varied sources for investment deals which I managed coordinating calls, meetings, sit in on calls, initiated calls and managed contacts, worked real estate opportunities, handled all contracts and paperwork, help multiple work sessions at my office, attended meetings, etc.
He was trying to open a new private school, so I rewrote his prospectus due to it being incomprehensible, created a business plan from scratch, worked on marketing material, etc. The project required either locating an existing building and repurposing or land and building a new building. I worked tirelessly in searching sites, meeting realtors, and reviewing options. I developed deep relationships with the two municipalities that were being considered and then made initial contact with the sellers of the land, the builder, the architects and managed those relationships. Many times I was directed to go "save the deal" due to the seller's frustration with the process due to my employer's actions.
It's a lot of information, I apologize, but other than personal and executive assistant, I am vacillating on how to designate my other positions.
